OFFICE OF THE EXTENSION SERVICES
The OFFICE OF THE EXTENSION SERVICES of the King’s College of the Philippines, formerly Eastern Luzon Colleges, was implemented in February 2017.
The Extension Services had been an integral part of the school’s plans and programs since its foundation having provided the following programs, activities and projects for the community beneficiaries, clientele and stakeholders.
KCP is not only committed to deliver quality graduates but is committed to enhance the quality of life of every beneficiary in the community.
Mission
The Office of the Extension Services is committed to educating and empowering responsive professionals who are quick to respond to the essential needs of our growing society through strong and sustainable outreach and extension programs.Vision
Transforming the youth to become exemplars in their chose careers, the King’s College of the Philippines envisions each generation of globally competitive professionals to love God, lead the nation, and light the world.Objectives
The Office of the Extension Services aims to:
- provide opportunities for KCP students, employees and alumni to be active change agents in social, political and environmental development;
- enhance the technological skills of the partner communities and/or organizations;
- increase partner communities’ awareness and adaptive strategies on the current social issues/problems through seminars;
- promote the spirit of volunteerism among stakeholders; and
- uphold fellowship among KCP and the community partners and/or organizations.
Based from the Key Result Areas, the King’s College of the Philippines Community Extension Services implements the following S.H.A.R.E.S. Programs, Activities and Projects:
SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
This covers the Key Result Area which is Human and Social Empowerment.
Personhood Enhancement Program
This program aims to encourage spiritual, moral, and emotional empowerment of the individual. Specifically, KCP considers the following Spiritual Development:
- Evangelism Program
- Jail Visitation
- Mission Outreach
- Religions Counselling
HEALTH CARE SERVICES
This covers the Key Result Area which is Human and Social Empowerment.
Health Care Support Program
This program aims to provide services that support physical and health wellness. The KCP Health Care Services includes:
- Personal Hygiene
- Free BP Monitoring
- Free Sugar Monitoring
- Free Blood Typing
- Sumba/Exercises Activities
ACT OF LOVE PROGRAMS
This covers the Key Result Area which is Socio – Civic Support.
Act of Love Program
This program aims to extend love and concern to the indigent, dis-advantage sectors of the society, give joy and relief to the victims of disaster and calamities. The KCP’s Act of Love Programs are the following:
- Adopt-a-Home
- Senior Citizen Program
- Mass Wedding Program
- DSWD Family Food Packs (FFP’s) Program
- La Trinidad Association for the Deaf (LTAD)
- Gift – Giving to PWD’s, 4P’s, Solo Parents (Nutrition Month)
- Gift-Giving to Schools (Brigada Eskwela, Christmas)
- Donation of Books and Reading Materials
- Blood Donation
- Feeding Program
REBUILDING, RENOVATION AND REPAINTING
This covers the Key Result Area which is Economic Development.
Infrastructural Support Program
This program aims to provide basic infrastructure supports facilities for socio-economic motion. The KCP Rebuilding, Renovation and Repainting
Programs are the following:
- Brigada Eskwela Program: Renovation of Comfort Rooms and the like
- Waiting Sheds Renovation and Repainting
- Barangay Signages installed at the road boundaries
EDUCATIONAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
This covers the Key Result Area which is Educational Assistance.
Literacy Program
This program targets to make available the opportunities for obtaining basic capabilities in reading, writing and arithmetic. the KCP School Literacy Programs includes:
- ALS Literacy Program
- Nutrition Literacy program
- Computer Literacy Program
- Adopt-a-School – Literacy Program
Educational Support Program
This program aims to extend the necessary assistance for the enhancement of learning. The KCP Educational Programs include:
- Bookkeeping Workshop – Cooperative and Store Owners
- Library programs
- Computer Repair and Maintenance Service
This covers the Key Result Area which is Environmental Advocacy.
Environmental Awareness Program
This program intends to develop environmental awareness through seminars, workshops and film presentations to address environment issues and concerns.
Environmental Projects/Activities
This program aims to device and implement environment related projects/activities such as clean-up drive, tree planting, waste management and the likes. The KCP Environmental Programs are the following:
- Adopt-a-Street Program
- Adopt-s-Estero Program
- Adopt-a-Forest Program / Tree Planting
- Adopt-a-Tree, Adopt- a- Child Program
- Eco-Tourism Program
- Beautification Program
- School Lights Off Program (12 noon to 1:00 pm)
This covers the Key Result Area which is Economic / Entrepreneurship Development.
Entrepreneurship/ Livelihood Programs
This program purposes to introduce, improve, and/ or induce viable industries, valuable interventions, or valid innovations to increase economic activity. The KCP Entrepreneurship/Livelihood programs includes:
- Siomai Making and Puto Making
- Donut Production and Cookies
- Pizza Roll and Cinamon Roll and many more
- Cooperative Assistance Program
